Zalgiris denied Panathiniaikos a landmark sixth straight victory in Kaunas, while CSKA Moscow took sole position of the top spot … for 24 hours at least.

The Lithuanian side came from behind, with a sublime third quarter denying Panathinaikos the biggest winning streak of the season with an 80-74 home victory.

Trailing 22-10 early in the second quarter, Zalgiris recovered to outscore the Athens side 54-25 until the third quarter ended 64-47, from there, Zalgiris were comfortable. Paulius Jankunas led the winners with 17 points.

CSKA Moscow also pulled away in the third quarter as they reclaimed sole possession of top spot with a 92-76 road win against Brose Bamberg.

Nando De Colo led the way with 20 points, four assists and three steals.

Baskonia recovered back from last week’s home loss by seeing-off Unicaja Malaga 88-82.

The Vitoria-based side improved to 5-6 in the EuroLeague standings, while Unicaja dropped to 3-8. Janis Timma led the winners with 24 points.

Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv held off a late Valencia scare to record a 94-91 victory. Down by nine with 85 seconds left, Valencia rallied and had a shot to tie it in the closing seconds, but Erick Green missed his effort and the visitors dropped their seventh game in a row.

Pierre Jackson paced Maccabi with 21 points.

Led by Alexey Shved, Khimki were 77-71 winners on the road to Olimpia Milano.

Shved exploded for 29 points as the Russian side improves to 7-4, while Milano drops to 3-8.
