Anadolu Efes’ Dogus Balbay will miss up to eight weeks of action after he broke his lumbar vertebra in Turkish League game against Usak.

This season, the 28-year-old has averaged 1.6 points in seven EuroLeague games. He ranks sixth in steals per minute among all EuroLeague players with 2.67 prorated to 40 minutes.

Despite the drawback, Velimir Perasovic has strength in depth in Balbay’s position with Errick McCollum, who’s in great form and Josh Adams at the head coach’s disposal.

Anadolu Efes are currently struggling to start the EuroLeague season. They’re 3-7, and fourth from bottom.
