Turkey were eliminated at the second round stage of Eurobasket by champions Spain and Turkish Basketball Federation president Hedo Turkoglu voiced his displeasure at certain individuals who “harmed” the national side.

Turkoglu did not mention names and refused to comment further on the matter, despite bringing it up himself. But he has stated that he will make adjustments ahead of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, which start in November and the future of the national side.

“We will do a good job,” Turkoglu said to Turkish broadcaster NTV Spor.

“The tournament is over for us. During this process, we were faced with unacceptable negativities. We saw that people who wanted to harm this team also appeared from time to time.

“No one should doubt that I, as president, will make the necessary clarifications. As long as we (the Federation) exist, our national team can not be hurt by anyone. As the president, I will not allow this, but now it is not the time to say more.”
