Former number one overall NBA Draft pick Andrea Bargnani is being offered a deal to return home.

Italian side Virtus Roma have reportedly made an offer to Bargnani, who spent an injury-plagued season last term with Baskonia.

The deal, according to Italian portal Sportando, includes bonuses and a percentage of the sponsorship income.

It’s an attractive deal, offered by the Serie A2 side, who are certainly ambitious in their pursuit of a heavily sought-after free agent.

Bargnani, the number one pick for the Toronto Raptors in the 2006 NBA Draft, joined Liga Endesa side Baskonia last summer, averaging 8.8 points a game in the EuroLeague.

The 7-footer’s campaign however was marred with several injury concerns. Roma feel that by luring the hometown player back to Italy, it can re-ignite his career.
