One of the key figures in Crvena Zvezda’s season last term is heading across to Russia.

After averaging 12.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 30 EuroLeague games last season forward Marko Simonovic is joining Zenit St. Petersburg as he prepares for an eighth EuroCup campaign with a fifth different team.

While with the Serbian powerhouse, Simonovic helped the team win two Adriatic League titles, two Serbian League crowns and three Korac Cups in addition to reaching the EuroLeague Playoffs in 2016.

Unfortunately, Crvena Zvezda were unsuccessful on reaching the post-season last term, losing out to Darussafaka Dogus on the final day of the EuroLeague regular season.

The veteran has had a storied and well travelled professional career. Simonovic started with Radnicki Belgrade of Serbia and has since played for Lavovi 063 Belgrade, Egronom Best Nis and Hemofarm Stada Vrsac all of whom from Serbia,

He has also had spells with Buducnost Podgorica of Montenegro, ALBA Berlin of Germany and Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez.
