Barcelona point guard Tyrese Rice will suit up for Montenegro at this summer’s Eurobasket, the Montenegrin Basketball Federation confirmed.

Rice had a phone conversation with national team head coach Bogdan Tanjevic to confirm his participation.

This won’t be Rice’s first spell with the Montenegrin national side, the 30-year-old guard averaged 16.8 points and 4.0 assists a game at Eurobasket 2013, but his solid performances couldn’t help the Balkan nation go past the first round in Slovenia.

Rice was one of the key figures on an injury-hit Barcelona squad last season. He averaged 13 points and 4.9 assists a game and was the only Barca player to play and start in all 30 EuroLeague games.

The Catalan side though failed to make the post-season and failed to go past the first round of the Liga Endesa Playoffs.
