EuroLeague Basketball representatives are meeting with owners of the VTB Arena in Moscow with regards to staging the 2019 Final Four in the Russian capital.

The news does not come as a big surprise given that EuroLeague representatives have expressed a desire to host a Final Four at the VTB Arena once building is completed.

The VTB Arena in Moscow will reportedly seat 13,500 spectators.

“We’ve enjoyed a great partnership with the VTB Arena Park and it’s been in our sights for a Final Four for some time now,” a EuroLeague representative said.

EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu met with Andrei Peregoudov, Head of the VTB Arena Park project in St. Petersburg, Russia during the ‘International Economic Forum’ to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the partnership between their organisations and to discuss future projects.

Both parties expressed their will to extend the partnership, and also agreed on having further meetings later in 2017 to make further progress.
