Bayern Munich owner Uli Hoeness has confirmed that his side are in talks with the EuroLeague for a possible licence to participate in the tournament next season.

The German League side have competed in the EuroCup for the last two seasons, reaching the quarter-finals on both occasions. They have also taken part in the EuroLeague where they went as far as the Top 16 in the 2013-14 season.

“We are currently in talks with the EuroLeague in order to be able to become a partner,” Hoeness told basketball.de.

“We are negotiating a license for the EuroLeague. Because if we are going to play in such a modern hall in a few years, we need of course also appropriate opponents.”
