Los Angeles Clippers forward Brandon Ingram is making progress in his recovery from a partially torn Achilles tendon as he prepares to make his debut with the team.
Ingram suffered the injury last season while playing for the Toronto Raptors and has recently started participating in 5-on-5 basketball activities. However, he has not established a specific timeline for his return.
“Whenever I feel ready. I still gotta do some more 5-on-5 and get comfortable on the floor, comfortable jumping and doing stuff that I do normally on the floor. It’s going to take a little time,” Ingram said about the process to get back on the court.
The forward explained that he still needs additional practice time to regain confidence in his movement and become comfortable performing his usual basketball activities.
Ingram also expressed optimism about the Clippers’ potential once their injured players return, pointing to the contributions of Max Strus and the expected return of Yanic Konan Niederhauser.
“Max (Strus) came back and had a big impact on the team. He’s made the team better. Yanic (Konan Niederhauser) is coming back soon. We got some guys coming back soon. So, you know. As a full team, I think we’re gonna mesh well,” Ingram said. “And we’ll be a little better than we have been. But these games that we lost, we’ve been right in the game. Just fix a few mistakes and we can win those games.”
