Davion Mitchell’s decision to continue playing after a facial injury

Miami Heat guard Davion Mitchell explained why he decided to remain in the game despite suffering a cut on the side of his face.

Mitchell sustained the injury during the contest but was determined to continue playing rather than leave the court.

The guard said his love for basketball and appreciation for the opportunity to compete made the decision relatively easy.

“Everyone knows I love the game, and I was just wanted to play … you kind of don’t take these moments for granted … it wasn’t really a hard decision for me … after they told me I have to shoot the free throws to stay in the game, I just ran out there to shoot them and got stitches.”
