Olympiacos Piraeus captured another Greek League Super Cup title after holding off a second-half comeback from PAOK Thessaloniki to secure a 101-96 victory.
Olympiacos controlled much of the opening half and went into halftime with a 14-point advantage.
PAOK responded after the break, cutting into the deficit by winning the third quarter by five points and continuing its push in the fourth, but Olympiacos managed to protect its lead until the final buzzer.
The victory gave Olympiacos its fifth consecutive Super Cup trophy. Sasha Vezenkov led the champions with a double-double, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Jean Montero added 20 points, five assists and two rebounds, while Evan Fournier recorded 19 points, two rebounds and two assists. Donta Hall contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.
PAOK received contributions from several players in double figures. Marcus Foster led the team with 18 points and five assists, while Cedi Osman finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
Kyle Alexander also scored 15 points and collected eight rebounds.
Naz Mitrou-Long and Nick Calathes each scored 11 points, with Calathes also providing six assists. Nikos Persidis added 10 points and seven rebounds.
PAOK reached the final after eliminating EuroLeague side Panathinaikos in the semifinal behind Osman’s game-winning shot, but its comeback attempt against Olympiacos ultimately fell short.
