Keyonte George lands massive 5-year Jazz extension

Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George has secured a long-term commitment from the franchise following a breakout season.

George has agreed to a five-year, $157.5 million rookie-scale extension with Utah, according to sources.

The contract does not include a player or team option, keeping him under contract with the Jazz for the full length of the agreement.

The deal was completed Friday after George’s agent, Jason Ranne of THE•TEAM, spent several months negotiating with Jazz president Austin Ainge during the offseason.

Utah’s decision to make a major investment in George comes after the young guard took a significant step forward last season.

He averaged a career-high 23.6 points per game, establishing himself as one of the franchise’s key players for the future.
