The Warriors are reportedly not treating LeBron James and Anthony Davis as a package deal as they continue exploring ways to reshape their roster this offseason.

According to Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, Golden State remains open to pursuing James independently rather than only in conjunction with a trade for Davis.

ESPN previously reported that the Warriors’ ideal scenario would involve acquiring Davis, signing James, and then re-signing Draymond Green after his decision to decline his player option.

However, Golden State’s recent two-year, $40 million agreement with Kristaps Porzingis has complicated its salary-cap flexibility, leaving the team currently unable to offer James the non-taxpayer midlevel exception.

Green is still expected to return to the Warriors on a new multiyear contract once the organization finalizes its roster moves this offseason.
