Croatia take on hosts Brazil and Lithuania face-off against Argentina in a battle of the undefeated teams in Group B of the Olympic basketball tournament with Nigeria and Spain sandwiched in the middle as the latter two sides look for their first win of the competition.

CROATIA EDGE PAST BRAZIL

Bojan Bogdanovic exploded for 33 points as Croatia narrowly beat Olympic hosts Brazil 90-86 to go 2-1 in Group B.

Dario Saric flirted with a triple-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as Croatia, a team that had to make it to Rio via the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, moved closer to a spot in the quarter-finals.

But the day belonged to Bogdanovic, who shot 10/16 from the field.

SPAIN BEAT NIGERIA IN ENCOUNTER MARRED BY CONTROLLED EXPLOSION

It was a rather surreal experience during game two as Spain secured their first win by beating Nigeria 96-87.

Spain jumped out to an early 16-point lead in the bizarre setting of an empty Carioca Arena as Federal Police and the Brazilian Army carried out a controlled explosion following the discovery of a backpack that had been left near a trash can in a bathroom.

Pau Gasol led Spain with 16 points as they move to 1-2, while Nigeria still await their first victory.

LITHUANIA STAY UNBEATEN, BEAT ARGENTINA

Mindaugas Kuzminskas hit a game-high 23 points as Lithuania virtually sealed their place in the last eight with an 81-73 win over Argentina.

Manu Ginobili added 22 Argentina suffer their first loss of the Rio Olympics.
