While Zalgiris Kaunas remains focused on securing the Lithuanian League championship, excitement is already building around what next season’s roster could look like.

Following Zalgiris’ convincing win over Juventus Utena in the LKL Finals, center Moses Wright was asked about the team’s reported pursuit of guards Saben Lee and Carsen Edwards.

“That’s elite backcourt right there,” Wright said. “Carsen Edwards, Nigel Williams-Goss, Maodo Lo, Saben Lee… That could be the top backourt in the EuroLeague.”

The big man also praised Lee, whom he previously played alongside at Olympiacos B.C.

“Saben Lee! That’s my guy!” Wright said. “Great player, great point guard. He’ll be a great pick up for Zalgiris.”

Although Lee is expected to join the club, reports indicate Zalgiris is still searching for another high-level scorer in the backcourt.

Edwards remains one of the main targets after an impressive EuroLeague season with FC Bayern Munich Basketball.

If the Lithuanian champions are able to add Edwards alongside Lee, Nigel Williams-Goss, Maodo Lo, Marius Grigonis, and Dovydas Giedraitis, the club could enter next season with one of the deepest guard rotations in the EuroLeague.
