One of the biggest moments in Friday’s game came from the New York Knicks’ bench rather than from a player on the court.

According to Zach Braziller of The New York Post, assistant coach Jordan Brink convinced Mike Brown to challenge a call with 2:37 remaining in the game.

Brink, who serves as the team’s director of video services, believed the Knicks had a strong case for a review.

The challenge turned out to be successful. After looking at the replay, officials ruled that OG Anunoby had been fouled on the play and awarded him three free throws.

The decision came at a critical point in the game and helped New York maintain control during the final minutes.

It also highlighted the role that video staff and assistant coaches play in helping teams make important in-game decisions.
