Tenerife delivered one of the most remarkable results in recent Liga Endesa history, eliminating Real Madrid in the opening round of the playoffs with a convincing 107-95 victory in Game 3 at the WiZink Center.

Patty Mills led the way with 29 points, while veteran playmaker Marcelinho Huertas added 23 points and recent signing Kevin Yebo contributed 22 in a memorable road win that secured Tenerife’s place in the semifinals.

The defeat marks Real Madrid’s first first-round playoff elimination in 18 years.

Yebo’s impact was particularly significant. The German center joined the club on May 25 as an injury replacement for Giorgi Shermandini and immediately proved his value on the biggest stage.

Tenerife controlled much of the first half, with Aaron Doornekamp and Huertas repeatedly finding success from three-point range. Their sharp shooting helped the visitors establish a 49-45 halftime advantage.

Madrid responded after the break and entered the fourth quarter with a narrow 73-70 lead, seemingly regaining control of the contest.

However, Tenerife produced a dominant final period behind the outstanding performances of Mills, Huertas, and Yebo to seal a historic 107-95 triumph.

Head coach Txus Vidorreta hailed the achievement after the final buzzer, saying: “It’s the greatest thing we’ve done together since the Copa del Rey final”.

Tenerife will now face Barça in the Liga Endesa semifinals.
