Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch expects the team to look for ways to improve its roster this offseason.

During a recent interview with KFAN, Finch said the organization plans to explore opportunities while continuing to build around its current core group.

“I do expect us to be (active). I don’t know what the end result will be, if there will be a lot of change. I mean, we love our core, and we know we need to keep adding to it a little bit.

“I have the utmost faith in Tim and his crew and (owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez) to be able to do it.”

The Timberwolves had reached the Western Conference Finals in 2025 but were unable to make a similar run this year.

The organization has already made major changes in recent years, including the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks before the 2024-25 season.

In return, Minnesota acquired Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, both of whom became important contributors.

The Timberwolves face financial challenges heading into the offseason because of significant salary commitments to several core players.

Even so, Finch expressed confidence that president of basketball operations Tim Connelly and the ownership group can continue improving the roster.
