Dillon Brooks reveals unexpected offseason move

Dillon Brooks is using the offseason to pursue something far from basketball. The Phoenix Suns wing revealed on Instagram that he has completed flight school, sharing a personal update just weeks after Phoenix’s 2025-26 campaign ended.

The post offered a different look at Brooks, whose on-court reputation has long centered on defense, physical play and intensity. Instead of basketball workouts or vacation photos, the 30-year-old highlighted time spent learning to fly.

Brooks played a major role for Phoenix in 2025-26 and was one of the team’s most productive scorers. He averaged 20.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 56 games while shooting 43.5% from the field and 34.4% from 3-point range.

Only Devin Booker scored more for the Suns during the regular season, finishing at 26.1 points per game. Brooks’ production gave Phoenix a reliable secondary scorer on the wing, while his physical perimeter defense remained part of the team’s identity.

The Suns finished 45-37 and secured a Play-In spot in the Western Conference, but their postseason run ended quickly. Phoenix was swept 4-0 by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round, with the conference’s top seed winning every game of the series.
