Tiago Splitter among finalists for Blazers’ head coaching job

The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly identified Tiago Splitter, Jeff Van Gundy, and Micah Nori as the known finalists for the franchise’s head coaching position.

Portland is searching for a replacement for Chauncey Billups after his arrest on federal charges in October. Splitter previously stepped in as interim head coach following Billups’ departure.

Van Gundy returned to coaching in 2024 as an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers after spending many years as an analyst with ESPN.

His last NBA head coaching role came with the Houston Rockets before he was dismissed in 2007.

Meanwhile, Nori has built a strong reputation as an assistant under Chris Finch with the Minnesota Timberwolves and has previously advanced deep into several coaching searches around the league.
