The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly not expected to remove the interim label from Tiago Splitter despite the team’s successful finish to the season under his leadership, according to Jake Fischer.

Splitter remains part of Portland’s coaching search after guiding the franchise to a 42-39 record and helping the Trail Blazers reach the playoffs for the first time in five years.

However, league sources continue to indicate that the organization is unlikely to promote him to the full-time position.

“While interim coach Tiago Splitter remains under consideration after going 42-39 and steering the Blazers to their first playoff berth in five years, sources with knowledge of the situation continue to say it’s unlikely that the Brazilian lands the job in a full-time capacity.”
