After winning the No. 1 overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft, the Washington Wizards now face the difficult decision of choosing which prospect will lead the franchise into the future.

One rival NBA front office official told The Athletic that having to decide between several elite prospects is ultimately “a great (expletive) problem to have.”

According to Josh Robbins and David Aldridge, opinions around the league remain divided on who Washington should select with the top pick.

Out of 13 executives and scouts surveyed by The Athletic, seven said they would choose AJ Dybantsa first overall.

Two evaluators preferred Darryn Peterson, while one executive said Cameron Boozer would be their top choice.

Three others reportedly declined to commit to a specific player, highlighting how competitive and highly regarded the top of the 2026 draft class is viewed across the league.
