Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had been diagnosed with a bone bruise and a hyperextended left knee, an injury expected to sideline him for multiple weeks, sources told ESPN.

While examinations confirmed there was no ligament damage, he was still set to miss time as he recovered.

Edwards was set to begin rehab right away as Minnesota continued its first-round series against the Denver Nuggets, holding a 3-1 lead but now moving forward without him.

The Game 4 victory came at a major cost, as Donte DiVincenzo was also lost with a torn Achilles, adding to the team’s injury concerns.
