Victor Wembanyama will not play in Game 3 for the San Antonio Spurs against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Wembanyama participated in shootaround as he continues to recover from a concussion suffered in Game 2, but he has not yet completed the NBA’s return-to-play protocol and hasn’t been cleared to suit up.

“Obviously, there’s a lot that goes into that, but he’s doing well and progressing,” head coach Mitch Johnson said, via Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

Johnson did not expand further on Wembanyama’s timeline, reiterating only that the young star is moving in the right direction.
