Michigan freshman guard Trey McKenney praised the roster’s sacrifice for each other following Monday’s 69-63 NCAA Division 1 men’s national championship victory vs. UConn in Indianapolis (first national title since 1989).

(via March Madness):

“I think just the way throughout the season everybody on this team is extremely talented, and for us to be able to sacrifice something for ourselves — a lot of us could be somewhere else doing more than what we’ve done this season — but I think it just shows that this team is super selfless and I’ve never been around such a talented group of guys that are willing to take a lesser role for somebody next to them. So I’m just really grateful to be around this team, and I’m gonna cherish this moment for the rest of my life.”
