The Golden State Warriors are expected to sign Charles Bassey, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The 53rd pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Bassey has played his first four seasons with the 76ers and Spurs, appearing in 113 games and averaging 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game from 2021-25.

Despite a strong Summer League performance in Las Vegas, he was unable to secure a full-time roster spot this season and has moved between teams while also spending time in the G League.

This season, Bassey signed a 10-day hardship deal with Memphis in October, followed by two 10-day contracts with Philadelphia in January and February, and two more with Boston, where his latest deal expired Friday night, making him a free agent.

The 6’10” center from Nigeria has averaged 2.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game across eight appearances with Memphis, Philadelphia, and Boston in 2025/26.

In the G League, he was far more productive, averaging 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 20 games, most of them with the Warriors’ Santa Cruz affiliate.

Bassey is expected to replace Omer Yurtseven, whose second 10-day contract expired Friday.

If finalized Sunday, Bassey could play in five of the Warriors’ final eight regular season games and is likely to sign for the veteran’s minimum.
