The Boston Celtics are set to convert Ron Harper Jr. from a two-way contract to their standard roster, signing him to a new two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Harper has appeared in 26 games for Boston this season after previous stints with the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons over the past three years.

The 6’5” forward is averaging 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per game, with most of his playing time coming later in the season.

According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, Harper’s contract will be a prorated three-year veteran minimum deal, allowing the Celtics to remain below the luxury tax while filling their final roster spot with another minimum-salary player.

The former Rutgers standout has played four seasons for three NBA teams. He has averaged 3.1 points in 37 regular-season games.
