Ron Harper Jr. is remaining with the Boston Celtics after agreeing to a new three-year, $9 million contract.

Boston declined its previous $2.6 million team option before reaching the new multiyear agreement, giving Harper a longer-term commitment following his steady development with the organization.

The 26-year-old joined the Celtics on a training camp contract last offseason, earned a two-way roster spot, and eventually had his deal converted into a standard NBA contract during the season.

Harper appeared in 29 games for Boston last season, averaging 4.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per contest while providing depth on the wing.
