The Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks face off Monday at the American Airlines Center with both teams navigating multiple injuries.
Minnesota will be without Jaden McDaniels, Zyon Pullin, Rocco Zikarsky, and Enrique Freeman, while Ayo Dosunmu and Anthony Edwards are listed as questionable.
Dallas enters the game missing Kyrie Irving and Dereck Lively II, with Caleb Martin doubtful and Marvin Bagley III, Moussa Cisse, John Poulakidas, and Tyler Smith all questionable. Daniel Gafford and Naji Marshall are probable.
Edwards has been limited by right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome, averaging 29.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game this season. Dosunmu’s right calf soreness makes his availability uncertain after posting 13.2 points in 18 games. Minnesota also faces a void in frontcourt production without McDaniels, who contributes 14.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest.
For the Mavericks, Klay Thompson is expected to play despite limited starts this season, contributing 11.8 points per game. Gafford’s right shoulder sprain leaves him probable, while Bagley III’s left shoulder impingement remains a concern after averaging 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in limited action. The absence of Irving continues to shift scoring responsibilities to Cooper Flagg and P.J. Washington, who average 20.4 and 14.1 points, respectively.
Both teams are coming off mixed results. Minnesota dropped a 109-87 home loss to Detroit on March 28 but secured a 110-108 overtime win against Houston on March 25.
Dallas won 100-93 at Portland on March 27 following a 142-135 loss at Denver two days earlier.
The Timberwolves have dominated this season’s series against the Mavericks, winning all three previous matchups by double digits.
Monday’s matchup tips off at 8:30 PM ET / 5:30 PM PT. The Timberwolves sit sixth in the Western Conference at 45-29, while the Mavericks trail at 24-50.
