Victor Wembanyama is beginning to deliver on the warning he gave following France’s silver-medal finish at the 2024 Summer Olympics, as Mike Finger of The San Antonio Express-News writes.

At the time, the San Antonio Spurs star said, “I’m learning,” and added, “and I’m worried for the opponents in a couple of years.”

He clarified that his message applied to players “everywhere,” not just those he’d face in future Olympic competition.

So far in 2025/26, he’s backing that up with an MVP-level campaign, strengthening his case for the award earlier this week.

Wembanyama has played 3 seasons for the Spurs. He has averaged 23.1 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 blocks in 176 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game, and has won the Rookie of the Year award.
