The Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets head into Saturday’s matchup at Spectrum Center with notable injury concerns that could impact rotations and scoring options.
Philadelphia will be without Johni Broome, who remains sidelined as he recovers from right knee surgery. Tyrese Maxey is listed as questionable due to a right finger tendon strain, while Kelly Oubre Jr. is also questionable with a left elbow sprain.
Maxey has averaged 29.0 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game this season, making his status a key factor for the 76ers’ backcourt. Oubre contributes 14.7 points per game and brings perimeter scoring and defensive versatility.
Joel Embiid continues as Philadelphia’s anchor, posting 26.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game over 34 games. Paul George adds 16.4 points and 5.2 rebounds, while VJ Edgecombe provides 16.1 points and 5.7 boards per contest.
Charlotte will miss several players as well, including Tosan Evbuomwan, PJ Hall, Liam McNeeley, and Antonio Reeves due to G League two-way contracts or assignments. Forward Tidjane Salaun is out with a left calf strain.
The Hornets’ top scorers remain healthy, including Brandon Miller with 20.3 points per game, LaMelo Ball at 19.7 points and 7.1 assists, and Kon Knueppel contributing 19.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. Miles Bridges adds 17.2 points and 5.9 rebounds while providing physicality on both ends.
Both teams enter the contest with momentum. The Hornets have won five straight, including a 114-103 victory over the Knicks on March 26 and a 134-90 rout of the Kings on March 24. Philadelphia holds a 40-33 record and comes off a win in their last outing.
This game marks the third meeting between the teams this season. Philadelphia won the first matchup 125-121 on October 25, while Charlotte claimed a 130-93 victory on January 26.
