Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic could miss Friday’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, as he has been listed as questionable with left hamstring soreness, according to Dan Woike of The Athletic.
Doncic has played in 61 of the team’s 73 games this season and remains in position for major postseason honors.
However, he still needs to log at least 20 minutes in four of the Lakers’ final nine games to qualify for awards such as MVP and All-NBA.
Although any soft-tissue issue raises some concern, the situation doesn’t appear overly serious.
Doncic is listed as questionable rather than ruled out, and the injury is described as soreness rather than a strain, which typically indicates a less severe problem.
Given that Brooklyn has struggled recently, losing nine straight and 19 of its last 21 games, this could be a logical game for him to rest if needed.
Meanwhile, Rui Hachimura is trending in the opposite direction. After missing the past two games with a right calf injury, he has been upgraded to questionable for Friday’s contest.
