Expanding the league to 32 franchises while also launching a European competition could generate at least $20 billion for NBA owners, according to Kurt Badenhausen and Eben Novy-Williams of Sportico.

Their conservative projection includes roughly $15 billion in expansion fees tied to potential new teams in Las Vegas and Seattle, along with another $5 billion coming from the addition of NBA Europe clubs.

As they note, those expansion fees would not be included in basketball-related income, meaning players would not receive a share.

Because of that structure, each current team owner could stand to receive around $650 million or more if the NBA proceeds with both domestic expansion and a move into Europe.
