The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran wing DaQuan Jeffries to a 10-day contract, according to the league’s transaction log.

Per Keith Smith of Spotrac, the move was made using a hardship exception, allowing Sacramento to add Jeffries without waiving a player.

The Kings qualify due to multiple long-term injuries, including Zach LaVine, Domantas Sabonis, De’Andre Hunter, and Drew Eubanks, all ruled out for the season.

Jeffries, 28, originally began his NBA career with Sacramento in 2019 and has since had stints with the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, and Charlotte Hornets.

In 111 career games, he has averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds.

He spent this season in the G League with Stockton, where he impressed by averaging 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on efficient shooting, earning another NBA opportunity.

Jeffries will make $165,197 over the 10-day deal, which runs through April 4 and covers five games, with a cap hit of $131,970 for Sacramento.
