Luka Doncic has retained high-profile attorney Laura Wasser to represent him in a legal dispute with his ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, according to Edward Lewis of the New York Post. Court filings indicate Wasser, known for representing celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie, claims the proper venue for the case is Slovenia, not California.

Wasser argued that none of the parties, including the children, are California residents and that Goltes’ petition appears to be an attempt to take advantage of the state’s generous child support laws. The attorney noted that Doncic filed a “Family Law action” in Slovenia in February 2026 after the children were allegedly withheld from him.

The Lakers superstar, 27, has continued to lead his team on the court while managing off-court matters. Doncic is averaging 33.4 points, 8.4 assists, and 7.9 rebounds over 35.9 minutes per game through 60 contests in the 2025-26 NBA season, maintaining his role as the team’s primary playmaker.

Other Lakers contributors include Austin Reaves, who averages 23.5 points per game, and LeBron James at 21.0 points per game. The team currently sits third in the Western Conference with a 46-26 record, pursuing playoff positioning behind Oklahoma City and San Antonio.

This development arrives as Doncic balances his leadership responsibilities for the Lakers with off-court obligations. His performance has remained consistent, with notable efficiency shooting 47.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range.
