The Golden State Warriors plan to re-sign center Omer Yurtseven to a second 10-day contract after his initial deal expired Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater.
Yurtseven, who joined on March 15, played in five games, averaging 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.2 minutes.
His role increased due to injuries in the frontcourt, though he was a DNP-CD on Monday against Dallas.
He previously appeared in 113 NBA games with the Heat and Jazz before spending time overseas with Panathinaikos, then briefly returning via the G League before signing with Golden State.
Head coach Steve Kerr has been impressed so far.
“I’m a fan of Omer – he’s a very good player, very talented,” Kerr said. “He’s a good passer, he can shoot, and he’s had success in the NBA.
“We’ve only had him for a few days, but I enjoy watching him every day and seeing how he fits with the other guys.”
The new deal would run through April 3. After that, the Warriors must decide whether to keep him longer.
