New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi drew significant trade interest ahead of this season’s deadline, but ultimately stayed in New Orleans and has continued to earn praise from head coach James Borrego.

Following a strong performance in Monday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, where he posted 10 rebounds, five blocks, and five assists, Borrego highlighted the second-year big man’s growing impact, according to Rod Walker of NOLA.com (subscription required).

“We’re using him a number of ways defensively,” the coach said. “Then he gets out and runs. He’s all over the offensive glass. He’s made tremendous strides.”

Missi has played 2 seasons for the Pelicans. He has averaged 7.5 points and 7.1 rebounds in 130 regular-season games.
