Golden State Warriors veteran Al Horford and guard Seth Curry will both be checked again in about a week after undergoing MRI scans on their injuries, according to Nick Friedell of The Athletic.
Horford suffered a calf strain after leaving Friday’s game against Minnesota early in the first quarter. The issue was first described as tightness in his right calf before further evaluation confirmed the strain.
Following the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr indicated that Horford is likely to be sidelined for several games as he recovers.
Curry also had to exit the matchup against the Timberwolves before halftime. The veteran guard went back to the locker room during the second quarter, and the injury has since been diagnosed as a left adductor strain.
Horford has appeared in 43 games for Golden State this season. The Warriors currently sit at 32-35 after losing to the New York Knicks on Sunday. In his role with the team, Horford has averaged 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds while playing 21.7 minutes per game.
Curry, meanwhile, has had difficulty staying healthy throughout the season. Earlier issues with sciatica forced him to miss a large portion of the schedule, and he has played in only four games since joining Golden State at the beginning of December.
The Warriors were also missing several other players in Sunday’s game.
Draymond Green was out due to back injury management, Kristaps Porzingis was unavailable because of illness management, De’Anthony Melton was sidelined with knee injury management, and Stephen Curry did not play due to a knee issue.
