The Warriors entered Friday’s game against Minnesota shorthanded, as leading scorers Stephen Curry (patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee) and Jimmy Butler (torn right ACL) were both unavailable, while Draymond Green was a late scratch due to a lower back issue.

Golden State lost another veteran during the game when Al Horford exited with right calf tightness and was ruled out for the rest of the contest, the team announced.

Horford suffered the injury in the first quarter and played just five minutes, finishing with three points and one rebound before leaving the game.

The 39-year-old center/forward entered Friday averaging 8.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks while shooting .425/.361/.846 across 42 appearances, playing 22.1 minutes per game.

In his 19th NBA season, Horford has mainly come off the bench, with Friday marking his 12th start.

With Horford out, second-year big man Quinten Post could see more minutes.

The Dutch center missed Wednesday’s loss to Chicago and was questionable entering Friday due to bilateral foot injury management, though he was later upgraded to available.

De’Anthony Melton also returned Friday after missing one game with a left adductor injury.
