Ivica Zubac appears close to making his first appearance for the Indiana Pacers. The veteran center has been upgraded to questionable for Thursday’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

Indiana acquired Zubac, along with Kobe Brown, from the LA Clippers at the trade deadline.

In exchange, the Pacers sent Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, two first-round picks and a second-round selection to Los Angeles to bring in the experienced big man.

Since the deal, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has consistently said Zubac would take the court once he fully recovered from the ankle injury that has bothered him this season.

Indiana sees Zubac as the long-term successor to Myles Turner as the team aims to return to contention next year with Tyrese Haliburton healthy and leading the roster.
