The New Orleans Pelicans kept their strong second-half run going Wednesday, defeating the Toronto Raptors 122-111.

Trey Murphy III led the way with 28 points, while Dejounte Murray added 27 as New Orleans earned its 22nd win of the season – already surpassing last year’s total.

The team has now won seven of its past 10 games.

Murray said the group is focused on developing consistency and the right mindset as the season winds down.

“We’re trying to build winning habits every day on and off the court,” Murray told Les East of the New Orleans Times Picayune. “Every game is a playoff game. There’s nothing like building momentum going into the off-season.”

Since returning from his Achilles injury, Murray has scored in double digits in all seven of his appearances and is averaging 17.6 points per game.

Head coach James Borrego praised the energy Murray has brought to the lineup.

“He’s bringing a fire and competitiveness,” Borrego said. “He’s infusing confidence and fight and this group is rallying around that. It’s his shot-making, his defense, his communication, his leadership.”
