Markelle Fultz, recently picked up off waivers by Raptors 905, contributed four points and five assists in his debut with the developmental squad on Sunday.
According to sources cited by Michael Grange of SportsNet, the appearance served as a tryout of sorts for a vacant roster spot with the Toronto Raptors, which the organization intends to address beginning March 15.
While the team has not made any commitments, Grange notes that the former top overall draft selection could become a worthwhile, low-risk pickup as the season winds down.
Grange also reports that Collin Murray-Boyles will miss the team’s upcoming road swing through Houston and New Orleans because of an injured left thumb.
Meanwhile, Trayce Jackson-Davis is set to sit out Tuesday’s contest after suffering a dislocated middle finger on his left hand during pregame warmups when he attempted a dunk.
“I hit my finger on the rim perfectly (to dislocate it),” he said. “And I looked down (at his suddenly crooked finger) and almost started laughing.”
