Maxi Kleber, who will become an unrestricted free agent after the season, has recently provided the Los Angeles Lakers with solid minutes off the bench.

In Saturday’s game against Golden State, he recorded four points and three blocks in 13 minutes, and he followed that with six points and six rebounds against Sacramento.

Teammate Marcus Smart praised Kleber’s professionalism and team-first approach when speaking to Khobi Price of the California Post.

“He does everything right, man,” Smart said. “And he’s such a good person. He wants to see everybody win, even though he’s not winning in certain circumstances of not getting playing time as much as he would like, probably.

“Not getting the ball as much as he would like. But he doesn’t let that deter him from cheering on his teammates and being there for his teammates. And then when he does get in and his opportunity comes, taking full advantage of it.”

Kleber has played 9 seasons for the Mavericks and Lakers. He has averaged 6.1 points and 4.2 rebounds in 474 regular-season games.
