The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Tyler Smith to a two-way contract while waiving guard Miles Kelly, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported on Sunday, March 1. Smith joins John Poulakidas as the team bolsters its two-way roster amid a challenging season.

Smith, 21, averaged 10.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over eight games with the Capital City Go-Go G League team this season. He shot 37.8% from the field and 24.3% from three, showing flashes of scoring ability despite limited efficiency.

The forward has previous NBA experience, appearing in 23 games for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2024–25, where he averaged 2.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.3 minutes per game.

Kelly, 23, struggled to find consistent minutes, averaging 3.1 points and 1.7 assists in 9.6 minutes across 14 games.

Dallas currently sits at 21-38, 24 games behind the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Cooper Flagg leads the roster with 20.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, while Klay Thompson and Brandon Williams provide scoring and playmaking support.
