The Dallas Mavericks have added shooting guard John Poulakidas on a two-way contract, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported on Sunday, March 1. Poulakidas went undrafted in 2025 and previously signed a Summer League contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Poulakidas was waived by the Clippers on October 14, 2025, to make room for former first-round pick TyTy Washington Jr. He appeared in 13 G League games for the San Diego team this season, averaging 8.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 19.8 minutes per game.

The 22-year-old guard showed steady improvement during his college career at Yale. In his senior season (2024–25), he averaged 19.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 31.6 minutes per game while shooting 45.1% from the field and 40.8% from three. His career collegiate averages stand at 12.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game across 110 contests.

Dallas ranks 12th in the Western Conference with a 21–38 record, looking to develop young talent around Cooper Flagg, Max Christie, and Brandon Williams.

In the G League, Poulakidas demonstrated shooting consistency, connecting on 38.5% of his three-point attempts while maintaining an 83.3% free throw rate.

The two-way deal allows Poulakidas to split time between the Mavericks and their G League affiliate while providing additional depth at shooting guard.
