Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will be sidelined again, though this time the issue is unrelated to his knee.

The team announced that Embiid is dealing with a strained right oblique and is expected to miss at least the next three games.

The injury occurred during Thursday’s win over the Miami Heat.

Even though he appeared visibly uncomfortable, Embiid remained in the game and knocked down a key shot late to help secure the victory for Philadelphia.

The All-Star big man has appeared in only 33 games this season, having already missed significant time due to multiple knee-related issues.

The 76ers have continued to carefully manage Embiid’s workload and overall health with the goal of keeping him ready for the postseason.
