Khris Middleton does not plan to pursue a buyout and is expected to remain with the Dallas Mavericks through the end of the season.

The veteran forward is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Multiple playoff contenders had been connected to Middleton as a potential addition if he reached a buyout agreement with Dallas, but those teams will now have to explore other options.

The deadline for players to be waived and still maintain playoff eligibility is Sunday, March 1.

Any player released after that date would not be eligible to participate in this season’s postseason.
