The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to sign Tyrese Martin to a two-way contract once the team completes its two-year agreement with Jabari Walker, according to Derek Bodner of PHLY Sports.
The move will help Philadelphia fill an open two-way roster spot as it continues adjusting its lineup.
Martin began the season with the Brooklyn Nets and remained with the team long enough to pass his January contract guarantee date, securing his full $2.2 million salary.
He was later waived so Brooklyn could create roster space to finalize its trade with the Denver Nuggets involving Hunter Tyson.
Across the past two seasons with the Nets, Martin played in 97 games, including 17 starts, averaging 8.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 20.7 minutes per game.
Once Walker is officially moved onto the standard 15-man roster, Martin’s signing will complete the Sixers’ two-way group alongside MarJon Beauchamp and Dalen Terry.
If the deal becomes official by Wednesday, Martin will be eligible to appear in up to 16 regular-season games for Philadelphia.
