Carter Bryant: I see myself at the top of my draft class one day

San Antonio Spurs rookie Carter Bryant talked about what’s helped slow the game down for him as of late during 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend (averaging 9.0 PPG/3.8 RPG/1.2 APG/0.5 SPG/0.7 BPG/0.2 TOV/1.8 PF/44.0% 3-PT/16.7 MPG over the last six games).

“I think for myself, just working. Working, working, working. Whether that’s watching film. Whether that’s getting on the court and actually doing work. Whether that’s watching my teammates’ film when I don’t get the opportunity to play in games. Just constantly learning, and having patience as well. I’m a competitor. I want to play. I want to compete. I want to help us win games. But understanding that my timeline’s different than everybody else. I don’t have to have the same timeline as everybody else. 

“I still believe at the end of the day, we’re gonna look up in 15-20 years and there’s gonna be a lot of teams like, ‘How did we pass on this guy?’ I truly believe I’m gonna be at the top of that draft class. So just understanding my process, I just have to be patient. Obviously, we have a great coaching staff and they instill confidence in me every day. Just the community around me, they speak nothing but positivity into me. So I’m just grateful to be where I’m at and just growing day by day, not rushing my process. Good game, bad game — I treat it the same way.”
