The New Orleans Pelicans dominated the Sacramento Kings 120-94, sending its 13th straight loss on Monday night.
Trey Murphy III finished with 21 points, including five three-pointers, and Jeremiah Fears dropped 14 of his 20 in the second half, while Zion Williamson scored 18 on 7-of-11 shooting with six assists for the Pelicans.
Sacramento has its longest consecutive losing streak since the franchise moved from Kansas City to Sacramento ahead of the 1985-86 season.
Kings’ Maxime Raynand had 21 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, reaching his eighth double-double this season. Russell Westbrook added 17, Devin Carter scored 12, and Nique Clifford with 10.
Meanwhile, Westbrook became the 14th player in league history to score at least 27,000 career points. The 18-year NBA veteran has 27,001 career points, 312 behind Elvin Hayes for 13th place on the league’s career points list.
DeMar Derozan fisnihed an inside drive with 4:08 left in the first that gave Sacramento a 20-15 lead, but Bryce McGowen and Murphy made back-to-back three-pointers to give Pelicans the lead for good and start a 25-6 run.
The struggling Kings had Zach LaVine (finger), Keegan Murray (ankle), Malik Monk (illness), and Domantas Sabonis (lower back) sidelined.
New Orleans snapped a string of 14 consecutive games in which they have not won or lost by more than 10 points.
Both teams will play on Wednesday: The Kings at Utah, while the Pelicans host the Heat.
